Benton Ridge

Hancock County, Ohio

On State Route 12, you’ll come upon the village of Benton Ridge. Originally known as Benton, and laid out in 1835, the village was incorporated in 1875, and was named for US Senator Thomas Benton of Missouri. Like many villages the name changed, becoming known as Benton Ridge, as it is situated on the sand ridge of what was one of the beach of an ancient lake.

The village is located within Liberty-Benton Local School District, home of the Eagles. This area of the county has seen an increase in growth over recent years. The schools are located on property in the vicinity of State Route 12, County Road 9, and County Road 139. The village is located near Findlay and Rawson.
